President Trump’s former campaign manager and senior advisor at the White House, Kellyanne Conway told CBS news that her former boss is planning on announcing his 2024 re-election campaign very soon and could declare his decision within weeks.
When asked if the former President would run for re-election, Conway responded, “Well, he would like to.”
Noting that President Trump is “as active as anybody” in the midterm elections, Conway pointed out that the former President is campaigning on the ground for America-First Republican candidates ahead of the November elections. Holding his signature rallies that are attended by thousands of patriots.
Conway told CBS News that soon after the midterm elections, President Trump will “assess the timing of his announcement.”
“I will tell you why he wants to run for president—Donald Trump wants his old job back,” she said.
Back in July 2022, when President Trump was asked about his intentions to declare a re-election campaign, he told the New York Magazine, “I’ve already made that decision, so nothing factors in anymore,” he further added, “My big decision will be whether I go before or after,”
When asked about how the recent FBI raid at his private residence in Florida has impacted his announcement and support for re-election, Conway said, “It’s changed the level of support that he has seen from people who may have been sitting on the fence or reluctant about another Trump run.”

When asked about the former Vice President and running mate to then-candidate Trump would have a “viable chance to the White House” she responded by saying, “If President Trump decides not to run … then it’s a free-for-all, then you’ve got dozens of men and women running. Our bench is very full,” Conway said.

This was in reference to the former Vice President hinting at seeking the Republican nomination for the presidency in 2022. VP Pence has gone out to endorse Republican candidates running against President Trump’s endorsements during the primary election.
When Conway was asked about President Trump’s potential concerns about Florida Republican Governor Ron DeSantis and his potential run for the presidency against President Trump, she said, Gov. DeSantis wouldn’t do that, he is on track to becoming “the best two term Governor that Florida has ever had” and he won’t be looking at a national race until his gubernatorial term.
