California Democratic Rep. Adam Schiff has not been the most favored Democrat by the GOP for some time now, but Georgia Republican Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene just made it perfectly clear how she feels about Schiff and his position on certain committees.
Specifically Greene believes that Schiff should be removed from his position on the House Intelligence Committee. With Republicans set to take control of the chamber in January, it is certainly possible that the GOP rids the House Intelligence Committee of Adam Schiff.
The January 6th riots in 2021 have resulted in the Jan. 6th Committee that is alleging Republicans played a significant role in the violence and chaos that occurred at the capitol as a result of Donald Trump’s loss to current President Joe Biden.
During an interview with FoxLA, Schiff said “Well, this is the same false equivalence they often use, which is, Marjorie Taylor Greene and Paul Gosar were removed from their committees because they were inciting violence and fellow members of Congress. The day I start to incite violence against people I serve with or elsewhere, then fine, take me off my committee. The moment I start engaging in insurrection, then fine, sanction me.”
He continued saying, “But don’t give me this false equivalence Mr. McCarthy and suggest that somehow leading legitimate investigations of Donald Trump’s corruption with Russia, Ukraine, and January 6 is somehow a legitimate basis to remove someone from their committee.”
Greene didn’t hold back in her response, claiming that Schiff should be removed from his committees for being dishonest with the American people.
“You deserve to be kicked off committees for lying to the American people and supporting BLM violent riots all over America @RepAdamSchiff along w/ many of your colleagues. I’m looking forward to watching @GOPLeader remove you from committees,” Greene said.
.@AdamSchiff fires back at @GOPLeader wanting to kick him off committees the way Dems removed @RepMTG
Schiff: it’s a “false equivalence”
