A brave young woman in Chicago was concealed carrying a handgun in her parked car at the 1300 block of East 89th Street in the Calumet Heights neighborhood when four men exited a black sedan near her and one of them attempted to enter the woman’s car flashing a handgun.
The 23-year-old woman, displaying tremendous courage, took a straight headshot and disarmed the armed carjacker early Wednesday morning. One of the other three men, returned fired and struck the woman once in her arm.
Paramedics took the gunman to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where he was listed in critical condition. The victim was taken to the Trinity hospital and listed in fair condition.
The remaining three suspects fled the scene and as of publishing this article and are not yet in custody.
The brave young woman, exercising her second amendment right was able to defend herself against four armed robbers in a city that has one of the strictest gun laws in the country.
The city, led by far-left radical Democrat mayor, Lori Lightfoot is suffering from a rapid rise in violent crimes, and police shortage as the justice system lets criminals loose with no accountability.
This is not the first instance where a legally armed citizen was forced to exercise their first amendment right to defend themselves.
Just back in September, a gunman opened fire outside a Chicago home and shot a 13-year-old boy in the head. He was likely attempting a mass shooting, until the victim’s 21-year-old cousin stepped in with his concealed carry weapon and shot towards the gunman, leading him to cease fire and flee the scene.
A similar incident also occurred in September where a concealed carry license holder shot an armed 13-year-old boy who was attempting to force his way into the victim’s car.
In July, another brave woman with a concealed carry license successfully defended herself against a group of men who were attempting to steal her car.
Also in February, a violent suspect, carrying a knife approached a concealed carry license holder and was shot once in the leg. He attempted to flee the scene and police custody and was eventually tased and arrested.
