BREAKING: ‘Woke’ Disney CEO Has Been Fired After Feuding With Ron DeSantis, Stock Price Plummeted 28% in the Past Three Months

Bob Chapek-Ron DeSantis

On Sunday, Disney CEO Bob Chapek was fired from his post in a shocking move. The former CEO of the company just 2 years ago, Bob Iger, came out of retirement to be his replacement.

“We thank Bob Chapek for his service to Disney over his long career, including navigating the company through the unprecedented challenges of the pandemic,” Susan Arnold, Chairman of the Board for Disney, said in a statement.

“The Board has concluded that as Disney embarks on an increasingly complex period of industry transformation, Bob Iger is uniquely situated to lead the Company through this pivotal period.”

This announcement was particularly shocking with Chapek getting a unanimously voted three-year contract extension just a couple of months ago from the board of directors.

Chapek was recently asked in an interview with the Wall Street Journal if he believes the company is too woke. The head of the company at the time dodged the question and said this has been going on forever.

“I think Disney is a company that has survived for 100 years by catering to its audience and it’s going to thrive the next 100 years by catering to its audience,” Chapek said.

Besides the first days of the COVID pandemic, Disney’s stock has hit its lowest point in five years. Many attribute this steep decline as a reflection of the company’s politics and battle with Florida Governor Ron DeSantis.

Disney took a “behind the scenes” as well as a public position against DeSantis’s infamously named “Don’t Say Gay” Bill. “Our goal as a company is for this law to be repealed by the legislature or struck down in the courts, and we remain committed to supporting the national and state organizations working to achieve that,” Disney responded in a statement.

Soon after Disney battled DeSantis, the Republican Governor introduced legislation that repealed Disney’s Florida land from its personal governing body status. This was a major blow to what Disney could do on their grounds.

It is also worth noting, some more bad news surrounding the company was a couple of employees of the park being arrested in a major sex trafficking sting operation earlier this year.
