BREAKING: January 6th Committee Recommends Four Charges Against President Trump and Further Investigation Into Allies In Congress!

The January 6th Select House Committee has recommended that the Department of Justice (DOJ) charge former President Donald Trump with at least four counts of attempting to overturn the 2020 Presidential election.

The hyper-partisan committee consisting of Democrats and only two anti-Trump Republicans voted unanimously that the former President should be charged for obstructing an official proceeding, conspiracy to defraud the government, conspiracy to make a false statement, and inciting or assisting an insurrection.

“Building on his constant repetition of the ‘Big Lie,’ President Trump engaged in an unprecedented effort to obstruct the joint session on Jan. 6, the proceeding where his electoral loss would be certified by Congress,” Democratic California Congressman Adam Schiff said. “This effort began in part in the states, which hold, count, and ultimately determine the winners of presidential elections. Many state officials were targeted by President Trump and his campaign.”

The committee members cited the former President’s alleged attempt to “pressure” state and federal officials into investigating the anomalies in the 2020 election. Some of the names cited by the committee include Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger and DOJ officials Jeffrey Rosen, Richard Donoghue, and former Attorney General Bill Barr.

Aside from the J6 committee, Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis is also currently conducting an investigation into President Trump and his allies’ contacts with Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger. Willis had previously subpoenaed Republican South Carolina Senator Lindsey Graham to testify for her investigation.

The Committee further recommended that the House Ethics Committee investigate Trump allies Reps. Kevin McCarthy of California, Jim Jordan of Ohio, Andy Biggs of Arizona, and Scott Perry of Pennsylvania for not testifying in front of the partisan committee.

“At the beginning of our investigation, we understood that tens of millions of Americans had been persuaded by President Trump that the 2020 election by overwhelming fraud. And we also knew this was flatly false. We knew that dozens of state and federal judges had addressed and resolved all manner of allegation about the election. Our legal system functioned as it should. But our president would not accept the outcome,” the committee’s Ranking Member, Liz Cheney said.

Following the committee’s recommendation, the Trump campaign released a statement saying “The January 6th un-Select Committee held show trials by Never Trump partisans who are a stain on this country’s history. This Kangaroo court has been nothing more than a vanity project that insults Americans’ intelligence and makes a mockery of our democracy.”
