Former President Donald Trump just cast his vote for Florida’s Republican Governor Ron DeSantis after a bunch of rumors surrounding the drama between the two related to a speculated 2024 disagreement.
President Trump told a group of reporters about his decision to vote for Gov. DeSantis after exiting a Palm Beach, Florida polling station along with the former First Lady, Melania on Tuesday.
“Yes I did,” President Trump told reporters when asked if he voted for Gov. DeSantis.

Just over the weekend, President Trump mocked Gov. DeSantis with the nickname “Ron DeSanctimonious” at his rally in Pennsylvania. Many speculate this was because of the Governor’s recent associations with House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy and former Republican Speaker of the House, Paul Ryan. Rumors were circulating that Gov. DeSantis was discussing a potential presidential run in 2024 and challenging President Trump for the GOP nomination.
After his rally in Pennsylvania, President Trump also held similar events in Florida, and Ohio where he refrained from making such attacks and in turn, encouraged his supporters to vote for Gov. DeSantis.
President Trump’s attack on Gov. DeSantis attracted backlash from conservatives who shared their disagreement with making such attacks just before the mid-term elections.
“DeSantis is an extremely effective conservative governor who has had real policy wins and real cultural wins. Trump isn’t going to be able to take this one down with a dumb nickname. He better have more than that up his sleeve,” wrote Daily Wire host Matt Walsh on Twitter expressing his disagreement with the former President.

“Neither is perfect, but I’d vote for Trump or DeSantis in 2024. I don’t see how Trump attacking Desantis before a major mid-term is beneficial to Trump or America at large. That is all,” wrote BlazeTV host Steven Crowder reacting to the attack.

Governor DeSantis is running for a second term in office and is challenged by Democrat Democrat Representative Charlie Crist. Leading pollsters and political experts speculate that Gov. DeSantis would easily defeat his far-left radical Democrat challenger and win the second term in the sunshine state.
