BREAKING: ‘Woke’ Whoopi Goldberg Deletes Twitter Account and Calls Elon Musk’s Ownership a ‘Mess’

On Monday, television personality and co-host of “The View,” Whoopi Goldberg, announced that she is leaving the Twitter platform after Elon Musk has taken over as owner. Goldberg has since deleted her account and announced she may come back if she feels comfortable doing so.

“So it has been a little over a week since Elon Musk took over Twitter and the place, it’s a mess… He also suspended Kathy Griffin for impersonating him on a parody account, which has started a FreeKathy hashtag to trend. I’m — I’m getting off. I’m getting off today because I just feel like, you know, it’s so messy,” Goldberg said.

Whoopi is referring to Kathy Griffin impersonating the Tesla CEO for a day and getting her account temporarily suspended.

Griffin tweeted multiple liberal-leaning posts, posing as the billionaire leading to Musk releasing a statement about her ban.

“Going forward, any Twitter handles engaging in impersonation without clearly specifying ‘parody’ will be permanently suspended,” he wrote Sunday night.

“I’m tired of now having certain kinds of attitudes blocked now getting back on. So I’m gonna get out, and if it settles down enough and I feel more comfortable maybe I’ll come back. But as of tonight, I’m done with Twitter,” Goldberg continued.

Co-host Sunny Hostin joined in on her opposition to Twitter’s direction under Musk.

“I follow legal scholars there, I follow SCOTUS blog, I follow thought leaders, and it’s such a good place for that,” Hostin said, “And now you’ve got this Elon Musk turning it into something it was never intended to be. He says it’s going to be ‘the public square.’ Well, I don’t want to be part of that public square but I also don’t want to miss the valuable information that can be put on there.”

Co-host Ana Navarro directed attention to regulation saying, “I think it’s time the U.S. government take a look at this, because in the same way that we are regulated by the FCC and radio stations are regulated, frankly, a place like Twitter has far more reach and is far more dangerous.”

Goldberg followed through on her promise, “To everyone, Thanks for everything!” she wrote on Monday after the show. “Until we meet again! Love, Whoop.” her account now reads, “This account doesn’t exist.”
