GET WOKE GO BROKE! New Disney CEO Admits Defeat, Regrets Getting Into Culture War With Gov. Ron DeSantis

Disney Corporation’s former CEO, Bob Iger, was brought back to the company last week to replace his successor, Bob Chapek, who got the company into a high-profile fight with Florida Republican Governor Ron DeSantis over the sunshine state’s infamous “Don’t Say Gay” bill which eventually led to the state legislature stripping Disney of its special administrative status that it held for a long time.

Upon his return, Iger announced that he wanted the company to stay away from commenting on cultural issues and move towards neutrality, just like it once was before the age of the woke culture war.

In his first internal town hall with Disney employees, Iger responded to several questions, as per reporting by independent journalist Christopher Rufo.

“Do I like the company being embroiled in controversy? Of course not,” Iger said in response to a question that suggested that the company should stayed out of politics. “It can be distracting, and it can have a negative impact on the company. And to the extent that I can work to kind of quiet things down, I’m going to do that.”

Iger also suggested that the company should not involve itself in taking controversial political stances. According to Rufo, Iger also suggested that the company made a mistake in its fight against Governor DeSantis, which resulted in the state legislature stripping Disney of its special administrative status.

“I was sorry to see us dragged into that battle,” Iger said at the town hall. “The State of Florida has been important to us for a long time. And we have been very important to the State of Florida. That is something I’m extremely mindful of and will articulate if I get the chance.” He added.

Many Republicans and conservatives were concerned that Gov. DeSantis’ fight with the Walt Disney Co. would have a negative impact on the sunshine state’s economy. But his decision to strip the company of special administrative status proved to be one of the most effective decisions of his administration that has to lead the company to abandon its woke virtue signaling and hopefully become a neutral player in the culture war.
