To no surprise former President Donald Trump recently announced his next campaign for the White House at an event in Mar-a-Lago.
This was expected as last week Trump said he was going to make a big announcement come November 15th and while some thought it could be in relation to the Speaker of the House position becoming open, it indeed was another Presidential bid.
“In order to make America great and glorious again. I am tonight announcing my candidacy for president of the United States,” said Trump.
“But just as I promised in 2016, I am your voice. I am your voice. The Washington establishment wants to silence us, but we will not let them do that. What we have built together over the past six years is the greatest movement in history because it is not about politics. It’s about our love for this great country, America, and we’re not going to let it fail,” the former President continued.
Trump went on saying, “I am running because I believe the world has not yet seen the true glory of what this nation can be. We have not reached that pinnacle, believe it or not. In fact, we can go very far. We’re going to have to go far first. We have to get out of this ditch. And once we’re out, you’ll see things that nobody imagined for any country. It’s called the United States of America. And it’s an incredible place.”
Former First Lady of the United States and husband to Donald Trump, Melania Trump spoke in support of her husband’s decision with Breitbart.
“I support my husband’s decision to run for president of this wonderful Nation,” said Melania Trump “His achievements during his administration had a great effect on all of us, and he can lead us toward success and prosperity again.”
“I await the day when my husband returns to lead an America that is characterized by peace, love, and security,” Melania concluded.
A Presidential bid from Donald Trump comes after an underwhelming midterm outcome for Republicans.
Many believed the GOP would sweep a “red wave” across the country and flip both houses of Congress, but as it turns out Democrats put up a strong defense.
If Donald Trump receives the Republican bid, the White House could see four more years of “Make America Great Again,” a duration that this country surely needs.
