HUGE WIN: Supreme Court Saves the Southern Border Pausing Termination of Title 42 as Flood of Migrants is Anticipated

The Supreme Court just paused the termination of Title 42, the Covid-era border policy that allows border agents to stop thousands of migrants from flowing into the country from the southern border.

Title 42 was slated to be removed Wednesday and border agents prepared for the biggest influx of border crossings in decades.

After 19 Republican-led states requested, Chief Justice John Roberts asked the Biden administration to respond as he plans to stay a lower court’s ruling on the removal of Title 42.

The Department of Homeland Security announced the Supreme Court’s ruling and their constant effort to prepare for a border situation without title 42 in place.

“As required by the Supreme Court’s administrative stay order, the Title 42 public health order will remain in effect at this time, and individuals who attempt to enter the United States unlawfully will continue to be expelled to Mexico,” the department said.

“While this stage of the litigation proceeds, we will continue our preparations to manage the border in a safe, orderly, and humane way when the Title 42 public health order lifts,” the statement continued.

Every state has been dealing with an extreme border issue for months. New York City Mayor Eric Adams is looking for emergency funding from the Biden administration to combat the over 30,000 migrants that have entered the state in buses from Texas and Florida.

Southern border states are fed up with the Biden administration’s policies that along with letting record numbers of illegal immigrants into the country have led to a severe increase in fentanyl in America, an incredibly dangerous drug that many in our country have overdosed on this year.

Texas GOP lawmakers explained, “More than 4 million individuals have been encountered at our southern border since President Biden took office. The Biden administration has released between 1-2 million of these individuals into the interior – not including approximately 1 million known ‘gotaways’ since the start of FY21. At least 98 people on the terrorist screening database were apprehended in FY22. Further, more than 24,000 lbs. of fentanyl have been seized since President Biden took office.”

Title 42 has been saved for now, but the plan for a post-42 border has yet to be prepared. The Biden administration is expected to comment on this situation and their future plans in the coming days.
