On Tuesday, Mark Wahlberg appeared on “The Talk” where he revealed he moved his family from Hollywood to Nevada to “be able to give my kids a better life.”

Wahlberg has been making the press rounds to promote his recent film “Uncharted,” and the host of The Talk Sheryl Underwood brought the discussion to Mark’s work life, as he explained his ambition to help Nevada build a “state-of-the-art studio and make this Hollywood 2.0.”

“I want to be able to work from home. I moved to California many years ago to pursue acting, and I’ve only made a couple of movies in the entire time that I was there,” he said.

“So, to be able to give my kids a better life and follow and pursue their dreams whether it be my daughter as an equestrian, my son as a basketball player, my younger son as a golfer, this made a lot more sense for us.”

“So, we came here to just kind of give ourselves a new look, a fresh start for the kids, and there’s a lot of opportunity here. I’m really excited about the future,” Wahlberg concluded.

Mark has a wife, Rhea Durham, and together they have four children. Ella, Michael, Brendan, and Grace are ages 19, 16, 14, and 12.

This move is showing the many stories throughout recent years of companies and personalities fleeing liberal cities and states towards a different life.

This year companies like Boeing, Tyson, McDonald’s, and Citadel all have announced their departure or are weary in McDonald’s case, as they move from their home base of Chicago to set up in states such as Texas and Florida.

Elon Musk and Joe Rogan are the biggest personalities to move from California to Texas, as they spurred a relocation for dozens of big names moving during the pandemic.

The issues vary from taxes to crime and just plain old freedom but Mark Wahlberg is just another example of the many people moving from liberal places to set up their new life.

I think we are all interested to see what Wahlberg’s Nevada Hollywood 2.0 will look like.
