On Friday, Colorado representative Lauren Boebert gave a speech in front of the new 118th Congress and ripped into soon-to-be “Former” Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi to her face.
Nancy Pelosi will inevitably be ousted from her post in January and Boebert and the Republicans didn’t hold back in their criticism of the lawmaker for her failed tenure as Speaker.
“Madam Speaker, the American people have spoken. They fired you and have chosen to end the Democrats’ one-party rule throughout our government,” Boebert said on the House floor.
“The days of this chamber being treated as Pelosi’s house instead of the people’s house are over,” continued Boebert. “The American people will once again be allowed into this chamber to see their representatives at work.”
The speech then shifted to policy, “Republicans made a lot of promises on the campaign trail. It’s time we make good on those promises,” Boebert said.
“We must defund the 87,000 IRS agents that the Democrats hired, increase domestic energy production, get to the bottom of Hunter Biden’s corruption, and, of course, the big guy, who is at least compromised by 10%,” she said.
“Reinstate the service men and women, who were shamefully discharged because they refused to take the Covid vaccine, reduce government spending and curve inflation, secure the southern border at which there is a complete invasion, and reduce the flow of China’s fentanyl into our communities”

“Republicans across America ran on these policies. God help us if we fail to deliver,” Boebert concluded.
This was an emphatic speech that focused on the importance of this election for the GOP. The Republican voters wanted many things and BoebeNrt listed all of them but at the top of every Republican’s priorities this election season was removing Pelosi from her reign as Speaker.
It is expected that in January Republican lawmakers will approve House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy for the post of Speaker. Pelosi also stepped down from her position heading the party Rep. Hakeem Jeffries, D-N.Y. was elected as the future House Minority leader for the Democrats.
Boebert later expressed her frustrations on social media about Democrats voting to name a room in the Capitol building after Pelosi.
“Democrats voted to name a room in the Capitol complex after Nancy Pelosi. I can’t think of anything less important, or frankly anyone less deserving.”
