On Friday, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni did a live TV interview with Sky News and beautifully articulated how France “continues to exploit poor, African countries”.
Sky News host Rita Panahi translated the Prime Minister’s comments saying: “She said the solution is not to take the Africans and bring them to Europe, the solution is to free Africa from certain Europeans who exploit it,” Ms. Panahi said.
“The left who pretend to care about poor people and the flood of illegal, economic migrants into Europe should be making that precise same argument, instead of making people smugglers rich and painting anyone who objects to illegal immigration as racist.”

The chilling moments of the video came as Meloni held a photo of an African child and said: “This is a child who works in a gold mine in Burkina Faso. Burkina Faso is one of the poorest nations in the world. France prints colonial money for Burkina Faso, which has gold,” Meloni explained.
BBC News reported Italy is one of the main entry points into Europe for many migrants and has had 70,000 migrants have arrived on boats on the country’s shores since the start of this year. This is the illegal immigration Meloni is looking to combat.
Meloni’s rise to power is worrisome for liberal leaders across the world, Politico White House Bureau Chief Jonathan Lemire wrote about her victory’s impact on Biden and others, saying:
“The earthquake in Italy has sent tremors that could be felt in the White House. The victory of Italian far-right leader Giorgia Meloni rattled Europe, furthering fears about a new right-wing shift on the continent as it battles economic hardship and nervously watches a raging war on its Eastern flank.”
Meanwhile, conservative leaders like Ted Cruz herald her honesty and patriotism in the face of the left leaving the continent. A favorite quote of many during her campaign outlined many American GOP talking points.
