Republicans did not meet the expectations they set for themselves in the 2022 midterm elections as the GOP was only able to take the majority in the House of Representatives and lost a key gubernatorial election in Arizona.

Republican candidate Kari Lake lost her contest against Democratic candidate Katie Hobbs in a race that was highly anticipated and came down to the wire.

Hobbs’ victory was already certified by state officials, but Lake has yet to concede the race and recently filed a lawsuit alleging that the balloting process on election day was mismanaged.

At a Mar-a-Lago event Lake attempted to hype up her supporters saying “They’ve messed with the wrong b*tch, okay?”

On election day, polling places experienced many problems such as extremely long lines caused by voting machines having difficulties reading ballots, printers running out of ink, among other issues that could have possibly interfered with people casting their ballots.

Lake’s lawsuit states the belief that “hundreds of thousands of illegal ballots infected the election in Maricopa County,” which affected the results of the gubernatorial election.

Judge Peter Thompson of the Maricopa County Superior Court recently approved three of the four requests presented in the lawsuit.

ABC 15 reported on Judge Thompson’s decision detailing the inspection that will occur as a result of the lawsuit.

“The ruling states that a representative chosen by Lake will be given the opportunity to inspect the following:

  • 50 randomly selected “ballot-on-demand” ballots cast on Election Day from six Maricopa County vote centers chosen by her representative.
  • 50 randomly selected early ballots cast in the 2022 general election from six separate Maricopa County batches chosen by her representative.
  • 50 randomly selected BOD printed ballots that were marked spoiled on Election day from six separate Maricopa County vote centers chosen by her representative.”

Lake responded to the approval of ballot inspection saying, “I am thankful to Judge Peter Thompson and his team for the work they do, and we are confident that given the opportunity, we will expose this election for the sham it was.”

The inspection will begin on Tuesday, December 20th and as results come out we will see if there was any mismanagement in the balloting process on election day.

Regardless of the results, Katie Hobbs is the new Governor of Arizona.
