The southern border is nearing the likes of the wild west as the Biden administration’s policies are allowing record numbers of illegal immigrants into the country.
Forces in southern border states are attempting to thwart this, but only so much can be done and in their fight the United States Border Patrol lost an agent who was chasing illegal immigrants crossing the border.
On December 7th, Raul Humberto Gonzalez, Jr. was in pursuit of a group of illegal immigrants attempting to enter the country when he succumbed to a fatal ATV crash near Mission, Texas.
The 38 year-old father was transported to a nearby hospital in an attempt to save his life but tragically he passed away.
For more than ten years, Gonzalez, Jr. has served the “United States Department of Homeland Security – Customs and Border Protection – United States Border Patrol.” His latest post was at McAllen Station in the Rio Grande Valley Sector.
Texas Republican Congresswoman Mayra Flores tweeted her condolences to Gonzalez, Jr.
“My condolences to the family & friends of Border Patrol Agent Raul Gonzalez. He was tragically killed in an ATV accident while protecting our borders. Many knew him as a great father & as a go getter at work. We are forever grateful for his service and sacrifice. #USBP #RGV #RIP,” the tweet read.

Flores represents South Texas, the part of the state most severely affected by the illegal immigration crisis.
Greg Abbott, the Governor of Texas, recently issued a letter to the President about the situation at the southern border and announced the state is taking the problem into its own hands.
“The federal government’s FAILURE to secure our border has forced Texas to protect its own territory against invasion by the Mexican drug cartels & mass illegal immigration. Read my full letter to Biden,” Abbott wrote.
