Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin Reverses Democrat Policy Banning Males From Female Restrooms in Schools

Republican Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin is fulfilling his campaign promises, reversed the state’s policies from his Democrat predecessor that allowed biological male students to access female restrooms based on their “preferred” gender identity. The Democrat-era policy also allowed woke teachers to use a child’s “preferred name and pronouns” without informing their parents.

Many players in the liberal media industrial complex and their far-left radical supporters in the Democrat party were outraged by this decision and were seen sharing their hysteria online. Here is a compilation of some of my favorite coverage from the corporate media.

“Virginia has moved to restrict the rights of trans students in its public schools,” NPR’s Sunday headline read.

“Virginia policy latest attempt to restrict rights of transgender students,” A Washington Post headline went to describe Gov. Youngkin’s decision.

A Democrat member of the Virginia House of Delegates, Mike Mullin took to Twitter to share his outrage calling the decision “shameful.”

“@GovernorVA’s new model policy calls for the misgendering and outing of children in schools where they’re supposed to be safe. Absolutely shameful” he wrote in his Friday tweet.

“Trans kids deserve to learn and thrive in an environment free of bullying, intimidation, and fear. That means being addressed as who they are and supported for who they will be. Especially from their teachers and their administrators,” Mullin added to his tweet which got ratiod pretty quick with people calling him out on his voting record.

The New York Times did not back down from joining the outrage and an article penned by one, Ava Sasani, describes the decision as a “reversal” of transgender students’ rights.

The policy “delivers on the governor’s commitment to preserving parental rights and upholding the dignity and respect of all public school students,” Youngkin spokeswoman Macaulay Porter told The Washington Post. “It is not under a school’s or the government’s purview to impose a set of particular ideological beliefs on all students.”

“Trans kids deserve to learn and thrive in an environment free of bullying, intimidation, and fear. That means being addressed as who they are and supported for who they will be. Especially from their teachers and their administrators,” he said.
