‘We’re in Dangerous Times’; Police Release Statement After Kari Lake Receives ‘Suspicious’ Package at Campaign HQ

Arizona Republican Gubernatorial candidate, Kari Lake’s campaign staffers were reportedly exposed to a mysterious white substance that was mailed out to her campaign headquarters over the weekend.

Lake responded to this suspicious activity by asking to track down the person who sent out this mail to her campaign headquarters.

After a campaign event in Queen Creek, Arizona on Sunday evening, Lake spoke with reporters and responded to the concerns and reporters’ questions about the suspicious package.

“I have been so busy campaigning. This happened. I was not in the office. One of our wonderful staffers, a couple of them, were actually exposed,” Lake said. “And so far they’re doing OK. We’re monitoring them, and we want to make sure that everything’s OK.”

Adding that the substance was initially to be sent out to Quantico, Virginia for further examination but law enforcement decided to test it at a local lab in Arizona.

“So we’re going to find out what it was,” she continued.

The leading gubernatorial candidate also added that this was not the first time that her campaign has received “suspicious” mail at the headquarters.

“But listen, we’re in dangerous times,” she said. “This is not the first time we’ve been threatened. I’ve been threatened many times. Our tires have been slashed. We’ve had screws drilled into our tires so that our tires would blow out while we’re on the road. We are living in dangerous times, and that’s why we need to elect somebody who’s strong and a fighter and not a coward. We’ll get to the bottom of this. I really don’t want to get too far ahead of it.”

In a statement to Fox News Digital, The Phoenix Police Department said that officers responding to the incident “found property call at an office building.”

“When officers arrived, they learned there were suspicious items located inside the mail,” Phoenix Police Sgt. Phil Krynsky told the outlet. “Additional resources responded to collect the items and secure the area. There have been no reports of injury and the investigation remains active.”

This is not the first time that a leading Republican candidate has been targeted with suspicious attacks. Recently, New York’s GOP gubernatorial candidate, and sitting New York Republican Congressman, Rep. Lee Zeldin was attacked on stage by a man carrying a sharp object, and later on, a mysterious shooting took place nearby his residence.
