YIKES! Biden Says ‘There are More Important Things Going On’ Than Visiting the Southern Border While in Border State

On Tuesday, President Biden responded to criticism that he has not visited the U.S Mexico Border during the entire tenure of his presidency saying, “there are more important things.”

Biden is in Arizona for a few days visiting the massive Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. facility under construction in Phoenix, just miles from the border where Fox News White House correspondent Peter Doocy challenged the President.

“Why go to a border state and not visit the border?” Doocy asked.

“Because there are more important things going on,” Biden responded. “They’re going to invest billions of dollars in a new enterprise.”

White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre criticized the concept of these border visits by republicans, deeming them “political stunts” last month.

Ever since Joe Biden took office, the American border has seen a record number of illegal immigrants crossing into the country. Border Patrol numbers reveal that more than 2.76 million illegal migrants have crossed the southern border. However, officials claim that the number is much higher, as many immigrants were never apprehended by law enforcement.

Many believe that the number is somewhere around the five million range. Despite this massive failure, the Biden administration wants Americans to believe that the border is secure and the crisis is completely under control.

While Southern Republican Governors scramble to solve the President’s crisis, Democrats continue to downplay the issue. Texas Governor Greg Abbott was forced to declare a special clause of the U.S. Constitution to protect its southern border; the state’s Military Department sent ten armored personnel carriers along the state’s border with Mexico to control illegal activity in the region.

Gov. Abbott first deployed National Guard troops to the border in March 2021. The deployment of these troops was part of a state-sponsored mission called Operation Lone Star. About 5,100 troops are now deployed at the border to apprehend illegal migrants and criminal activity taking place between the ports of entry. These troops now have the authority to arrest illegal migrants and are working closely with the Texas Department of Public Safety.

With Republicans having more involvement in this Congress, focus on the southern border legislature is expected to be swift. Nearly all Republican lawmakers that got voted into the 118th Congress this year ran on promising a secure border, now let’s see if they make it happen.
