On Friday, Former First Lady and Democratic Presidential Nominee Hillary Clinton said in a promotional video that “right-wing extremists” are already planning to steal the 2024 presidential election.
The liberal group Indivisible was created as a combatant to Donald Trump’s victory in 2016. In this promotional video, Clinton says, “Right-wing extremists already have a plan to literally steal the next presidential election, and they’re not making a secret of it.”
“The right-wing-controlled Supreme Court may be poised to rule on giving state legislatures the power to overturn presidential elections.”
The subject of Clinton’s talking point is a Supreme Court case, Moore v. Harper, that could empower states during federal elections. This case stems from the GOP-controlled North Carolina General Assembly suing a court that decided their congressional redistricting was invalid.
This has spawned the Democrat’s theory for the 2024 election cycle, “Just think, the 2024 presidential election could be decided not by the popular vote, or even by the anachronistic Electoral College, but by state legislatures — many of them Republican-controlled,” Clinton continued.
Indivisible is now focused on trying to flip state legislatures blue to avoid this “election steal” threat.
The New York Post explained Hillary’s frustration with the election system saying, “In the 2016 presidential election, Donald Trump won 304 electoral votes to Clinton’s 227, though she received nearly 2.9 million more raw votes than the Republican. It was the largest popular-vote margin in favor of any defeated presidential candidate in US history.”
This whole story is made more enticing as the debate over the legitimacy of the 2020 election was questioned by many, all of whom were called ridiculous and crazy by the left, are seeing the shoe on the other foot.
Clinton herself claimed the 2016 election was stolen from her saying, “You can run the best campaign, you can even become the nominee, and you can have the election stolen from you,” she said in 2019.
In 2020, Clinton called out Trump’s fraud claims in a tweet where she hypocritically called this accusation “at the expense of our democracy.”
“The election was not close. There was no evidence of fraud. The states have certified the results. Yet Trump continues to try to overturn the election at the expense of our democracy. The emperor has no clothes. Republican electeds who continue to humor him have no spines.”
