On Thursday, Fox News reported that the Secret Service is keeping its silence as government watchdogs attempt to investigate records of Hunter Biden and his reported gun ownership.
Judicial Watch, a watchdog founded in 1994, filed a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request in April 2021 with the hopes the Secret Service would overturn the records of Hunter’s gun, which reportedly was thrown away in a dumpster.
The Secret Service told Judicial Watch a year ago that they have records of the inquiry for the group but in October the agency is reporting that that report was a mistake and they did not have any records of the incident.
On November 10th, when pressed in Washington, D.C. District Court, the Secret Service again admitted they have over 100 records totaling over 400 pages that could be responsive to Judicial Watch’s FOIA request.
Judicial Watch president Tom Fitton spoke with Fox News saying, “The Secret Service’s changing story on records raises additional questions about its role in the Hunter Biden gun incident.”
“One thing is clear, Judicial Watch’s persistence means the public may get records that the Secret Service suggested didn’t exist.”
The reported story of the gun goes as follows.
In 2018, Hallie Biden, the widow of President Biden’s late son Beau, apparently threw out the firearm Hunter had purchased that month behind a local market.
Hunter Biden is continually in hot water as House Republicans prepare to launch their formal investigations into his dealings as they have been planning for the past three years. House Rep. James Comer of Kentucky outlined the investigation into the whole Biden family’s dealings.
“In the 118th Congress, this committee will evaluate the status of Joe Biden’s relationship with his family’s foreign partners and whether he is a President who is compromised or swayed by foreign dollars and influence,” said Comer to the House Oversight Committee. “I want to be clear: This is an investigation of Joe Biden, and that’s where the committee will focus in this next Congress.”
CNN reported, Comer said his team has spoken with multiple whistleblowers who say they were involved in schemes involving the Biden family, reviewed Hunter Biden’s laptop, and received “previously unknown transactions.”
